Setting:
In the distant future a small group of human exiles have been
doomed to fight for survival on the edge of the galaxy. Through military
strength, espionage and deceit, a unified Terran government has maintained
an uneasy peace. As resources run short, however, these Confederate nations
find themselves looking towards the rich worlds of their alien neighbors,
the enigmatic Protoss. To further complicate matters, it seems that a
previously unknown and deadly species known only as the Zerg has entered
Protoss space and is destroying everything in its path. The time for war
has come...
As the military leader for your species, you must gather the resources
you need to train and expand your forces and lead them to victory. Control
any of three different species, each with unique units, technologies,
attributes, and abilities.
Review:
StarCraft
is real time strategy game by Blizzard
Entertainment which incorporates 3 very different races that fight
for supreme rulership. Zerg, Terran, and Protoss all have there own units,
buildings and reasons for conquest. Through Battle.Net
you can test your skill in multiplayer action over the internet. Battle.net
is another product of Blizzard and is considered to be the biggest online
gaming service with reports of over 100,000 users on at a single time.
Terran |
The Terrans are an adaptable race - they can move quickly between
attack and defence. This is reflected in their units. They can also
do massaive damage, but specialize at taking big targets one at a
time and less so much as dealing with swarms.(not including the nukes) |
Protoss |
The units controlled by the Protoss are expensive, yet powerful.
They can take a good amount of damage, and dish out a lot and very
good with dealing with swarms. |
Zerg |
Contrary to the Protoss, the units of the Zerg Swarms are weak and
cheap. This is why they are best used in massive numbers. |
Blizzard has even come out with an add on called
Brood Wars. This adds more levels,
more units, and a deeper story plot (if you play the single player).
