Diablo 2!
Setting: Review: The one thing that has changed the least from the original Diablo is the game play. Still very much a hack and slash adventure with very little story and a lot of booty very much like the first it does tend to get somewhat repetitious. As a whole the game is basically a series of little quests to follow which lead up to the end goal defeat Diablo. However as you get to Act 2 and beyond the change of scenery really does help a lot in keeping your interest up. Plus there is the addiction factor for people who spend their time trying to get the next most powerful weapons and armor. New Classes - As opposed to the 3 character classes in Diablo 1 (Warrior, Rogue, Sorcerer), D2 sports 5 new classes: Necromancer, Barbarian, Amazon, Paladin, and Sorceress. Stash - The single most important feature added to Diablo 2 in my eyes is the Stash in town. In Diablo 1 you had no place to store your cash for a rainy day and therefore you ended up carrying tons of gold and you had to make frequent trips back to town to unload it on the ground where you hoped it would be safe till you needed it. Now you have your very own chest in the middle of camp where you can not only store gold but inventory as well. Waypoints - Throughout the game you will come across waypoints which will teleport you back to camp where you can repair items, trade, and stock back up on health potions. With the very large size of the Diablo 2 world these waypoints prove to be very handy shortcuts back especially due to the fact that the areas in D2 re-spawn every time you leave the game meaning you would have to hack and slash your way all the way back to where you were before.
